This designer was born in East London, South Africa to a family that produced generations of artists. He attended Ouden Moulin, specializing in art and design, and later continued his education at the Art Institute in Cape Town. Stephen received awards in several art competitions, one of which presented a sizeable cash prize with which he set sail for the US. Once in the states, he worked as an illustrator for clients such as Coca-Cola and Sprint. Just before the birth of his first son, Stephen designed a crib that combined his love for the wilds of Africa and his wife Mary’s fondness of French wrought iron. Today, his collection of exquisite infant furnishings has graced the pages of Veranda Magazine, House Beautiful, USA Today, House and Garden and the LA Times.
